SEMARANG, RADARKAUR.CO.ID - By the end of 2023, Cakap, a frontrunner in Indonesia's EdTech scene, consistently marked its fourth year of net profitability.

Demonstrating robust growth across its primary sectors—Language, Upskill, and Business—Cakap witnessed a remarkable 50% surge in its student base, culminating in a total of 4.5 million learners by December 2023.

Parallel to this growth, the educator team at Cakap expanded by 27.78%, totaling 2,300 instructors.

In the same year, Cakap successfully finalized its Series C funding round, amassing USD 7.5 million with backing from esteemed investors such as MDI Ventures, Heritas Capital, and various prominent conglomerates.

MDI Ventures CEO Donald Wihardja voiced his optimism regarding Cakap's trajectory, highlighting the significant societal benefits the company continues to deliver.

"Cakap's consistent innovation and proven viability as a competitive Indonesian EdTech startup even in the current market dynamics are commendable," he remarked.

Tomy Yunus, Cakap's CEO and Co-founder, shared that the newly acquired funds would fuel the company's expansion beyond Jabodetabek, introducing new ventures like mixed learning facilities and career development platforms (Career Link and Match).
